Sometimes we need something or someone to remind us of the dreams and passions we have within us. Philippe Petit, the man who walked a tightrope between the Twin Towers in 1974, among many other amazing locations around the world, is one of those people. His documentary Man on Wire is a such a fascinating watch - think mentally intense chess match meets spy novel meets sweaty palm inducing hairpin corners of F1 (ie: will he crash?!). His take on life makes it seem so effortless - poetic even.
"To me it’s so simple that life should lived on the edge of life. You have to exercise rebellion. To refuse to taper yourself to rules. To refuse your own success. To refuse to repeat yourself. To see every day, every year, every idea as a true challenge and then you are going to live your life on the tightrope."
There's also a great recent TED talk with him here. And a bit of him on the Colbert Report here. If you're not doing what you are passionate about, Philippe will no doubt make you think about why.
