Steve Heller put up a nice post on a beautiful little book by Dominik Imseng called Think Small. The story of the world's greatest ad. Dominik also produced a nice video with George Lois on the now famous 1959 Volkswagen Campaign voted the best advertising campaign of the twentieth century by Ad Age (nice article here). Just looking at this is a design education in and of itself.
