Soofa, a passionate team of engineers, designers and problem-solvers, started out in 2014 with the goal of reinventing public space, and is now present in over 100 cities. Soofa benches can now be found in parks, bus stops and downtown plazas and offer solar-powered phone charging as well as sensors to measure activity in public spaces. Soofa’s more recent offering, the Soofa sign, is described as the bulletin board of the 21st century.

This self-contained digital signage is also powered by solar energy and offers wireless connectivity. The intention behind it is to give communities a voice— neighbors can share events, local businesses can advertise, artists can showcase their work and transit operators can provide travel information. Soofa also offers a streamlined platform for data analysis that can monitor street level activity, measure the success of events by attendance, and use these insights to improve public spaces as a whole.
